You wouldn’t want to find out that the battery died or the device doesn’t work when a fire breaks out in your home. Each month, quickly push the test button on every alarm to ensure it’s working properly. Every year you should replace the batteries.
Give Your Home a Deep Clean

Check Caulking Around Sinks and Tubs
The caulking you find around the edge of the sink, and your bathtub helps prevent leaks. Over time, the caulking starts to chip away and lift, which means you need to replace it. Sometimes, you can simply apply more. Other circumstances, you may need to remove it and redo the whole strip.
